Damage

Any damage occurring during a rental period is the sole responsibility of the Renter. If a Ride is damaged during a rental, the Renter should immediately contact Spinlister to assess the situation and coordinate repair. Typically, Spinlister will either direct the Renter or the Lister to get a repair estimate from a specialty shop (bike shop, surf shop, or snow shop), or the Renter can source the parts online. Either way, the Renter is responsible for paying the damage.

The Renter can choose to pay the Lister directly (via PayPal, Check, Venmo, Square Cash or another service that will provide a paper record) or Spinlister can charge the credit card on file for the full amount of the damage and then reimburse the Lister.

Theft

If a Ride is stolen, the Renter should attempt to get a police report. Once the police report is acquired, the Renter should contact Spinlister. We will work with the Lister to assess the replacement costs. Typically, Spinlister will either direct the Renter or the Lister to get an estimate of replacement from a specialty shop (bike shop, surf shop, or snow shop), or the Renter can source the replacement online.

When a Renter is found to be responsible for replacing the Ride, they can choose to pay the Lister directly (via PayPal, Check, Venmo, Square Cash or another service that will provide a paper record) or Spinlister can charge the credit card on file for the full amount of the damage and then reimburse the Lister.

Loss

Loss is treated the same as theft. Any loss occurring during a rental period is the sole responsibility of the Renter. The Renter is responsible for replacing the Ride if lost.

The Renter can choose to pay the Lister directly (via PayPal, Check, Venmo, Square Cash or another service that will provide a paper record) or Spinlister can charge the credit card on file for the full amount of the damage and then reimburse the Lister.

Renter Protection Program

Spinlister offers a Rental Protection Program to protect the Renter against costs of damage and theft. This is available for purchase during checkout when booking a ride.

The Spinlister Renter Protection Program does NOT cover bicycles locked outside overnight or that were secured with cable locks, or otherwise improperly locked.

Spinlister will not provide coverage under our Protection Program for damage that occurs during transportation as opposed to riding the bike. Examples include but are not limited to the bike being damaged while attached to a car rack, while being shipped or while being transported in a truck or van. In this event, the Renter will be responsible for any damages. Furthermore, Spinlister will not provide coverage for damage caused by disassembly, modification, or installation of accessories or bags.
