Messaging a Renter

We only open in-app messaging between users once a Renter requests a Ride. After the request is sent, a message will automatically be sent to the Lister through our system. In order to keep everything secure and consolidated, Spinlister recommends you use our easy messaging system to communicate instead of your personal cell phone or email address. If you verify your cell phone on Spinlister, you can use SMS to text people through our messaging system. This will enable you to keep your number private, but you'll still have the flexibility and ease of texting.

Generally speaking, the messaging system can be used to confirm the Ride's dropoff locations and times - and anything else the Lister and Renter might want to discuss. Especially in the event of a late dropoff, Ride damage, theft, or loss, we still recommend using our messaging system in case we need to step in to help with the situation.

Open your messages page by clicking on the envelope, then cycle through conversations by clicking on each user

(iOS) Tap "Inbox" then tap the Renter you would like to converse with

(Android) Tap "Rentals" then tap the Ride who's Renter you would like to message

On the reservation page, tap "Conversation" to message the other user
